Tenterden Folk Festival 2004

Camping available to participants

Informal camping facilities for caravans and tents will be available at Tenterden Folk Festival 2004 for the benefit of participants in the Festival.

Mr Henry Edwards, a local farmer, has kindly agreed to let us have the use of a field very close to the town centre.  Use of this campsite will be limited to members of participating dance sides, festival guests and performers, stall holders and other full weekend ticket holders at the discretion of the organisers.

The campsite will be available from 4.00 p.m. on Friday 1st October through to 7.00 p.m. on Sunday 3rd October.  Mr Edwards has requested that the field be cleared of all vehicles, caravans and tents by that time due to agricultural requirements.

It will be necessary for us to make a small charge for camping and we will also be asking campers to ensure that they;

  • Respect the field and any nearby crops and livestock,
  • Abide by the countryside code,
  • Take care not to annoy other landowners and neighbours,
  • Ensure that they have adequate water and toilet facilities (water will be available from town centre public convenience buildings during the days and possibly from some friendly venues),
  • Park sensibly,
  • Bring a torch or flashlight as the field is dark,
  • Leave the area clean, tidy and litter free,
  • Provide buckets of sand and water in case of fire,
  • Abide by the instructions of stewards and the emergency services.

Limited indoor camping will, as usual, be available at the Scout Hut.  You are requested to make a donation to the Scouts for the use of the hall.

No caravans will be allowed at the Scout Hut this year due to problems with access.

Please note that to help us with administration all camping must be booked and paid for in advance.
