An invitation to

Tenterden Folk Festival

Friday 3rd to Sunday 5^th October 2003

As I know that many of you plan you diaries early in the new year I am writing now to confirm that Tenterden Folk Festival will take place from Friday 3^rd to Sunday 5^th October 2003.

We anticipate that the Festival will continue to follow the well established format with a few minor changes and continued improvements. We will be booking guests over the forthcoming months and full details will be published in the usual folk magazines. Details will also be posted on our web site at www.folkspots.btinternet.co.uk

Sides are, as always, welcome to come and dance around the town and take part in the procession and even have a ride on the steam trains. There will also be a more formal display open to those who want to take part in it. If you know of any other sides that you would like us to invite to the Festival, please let me know as soon as possible as in the last few years we have come very close to being over subscribed. Saturday will remain the main day but there are still plenty of opportunities for more sides to stay on for Sunday, so why not make a weekend of it. We can provide a very basic campsite and indoor camping for those taking part in the Festival and we can find parking places for a few caravans if you book in advance. We do however expect sides making use of these facilities to make a donation to the Scouts for the use of their premises.

We will be pleased to continue to provide a limited number of free weekend tickets to sides confirmed in advance.

We look forward to hearing from you and hope to see many of our regular supporters and some new ones in Tenterden in October. More details later.
